Overview
Reveal the hidden charm of Hue on the ride through the hidden back roads by bicycle. Start your trip from the centre of Hue and cycle towards the country side. Along the ride you will pass stunning country villages and nature landscapes. Things are close from the handle bar. You will get to see and contact with local, visit to royal tombs of Emperor Gia Long, Khai Dinh, Thieu Tri and Tu Duc as well as numerous other interesting sites. A moderate level of fitness is required for this day trip however most of the terrain is flat.

Detail program
Depart central Hue at 8h30 and ride toward the southwest of Hue. You will pass the impressive French built Quoc Hoc High School where many important statesmen of Vietnam attended including the father figure of the country Ho Chi Minh and the famous catholic church of Phu Cam before ride further to the country area.
Visit to the Quoc An pagoda, one of the oldest Buddhist foundations in central Vietnam which is typical of the Mahayana sect in Hue, here visit at a village kindergarten.

Continue your ride along the country paths where numerous Buddhist pagodas and shrines can be seen. Continue towards Khai Dinh Tomb which is well known for its intricate mosaic tiles as well as the European influenced Oriental design. After visiting the tomb ride onto the craft village of Da Khe which specializes in traditional bamboo handicrafts. From here take a short trip by boat across a reservoir for the 2km ride to Gia Long tomb which is well known for its distinctive architecture as well as its stunning, natural setting. Leave the tomb and cycle along the northern bank of the Perfume River among green, aged pine trees then board a local ferry to the other side of the river. Continue to the tomb of King Thieu Tri, the third king of the Nguyen Dynasty. Continue to paddle onto Tu Duc’s Tomb, the resting place for the fourth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty that reflect the character of a poet and scholar than an emperor with a romantic architectural style within harmonious natural setting. After that, ride to nearby villages specializing in incense stick making and bronze casting before returning to Hue.
